PRAYER IS ...Something that I JOIN

"Somedays when I forget how to pray
If I listen with my whole body"...
I can hear prayer happening anyway:
Chopping carrots, prayer;
Responding to a friend's email, prayer;
Lighting my incense match, a prayer.
Oh! Prayer isn't something I "do"
It's something I JOIN...
with my attention.
Fully here, Fully now.
Prayer.
Softening, opening, yielding
To this very moment...
Ahhhhhh prayer. You hold me...
like beach roses hold sunshine,
like lupines hold spring rain.
"Somedays when 'I think' I've forgotten how to pray
If I listen with my whole body..."
I'm reminded that I'm already in
the dance of prayer;
Just by being alive
simply be being awake.

A summer spiritual practice I'm engaging is to read a Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer Poem (A favorite poet! -- receive a free RWT poem every day here: https://ahundredfallingveils.com/) and then I take one line from the poem as my WRITING PROMPT. Here's the poem for today, which gave me this opening and closing line: https://braidedway.org/how-to-meet-this-difficult-day/
